Termite Control
Termites
The most common termites in Texas are the Formosan Subterranean termite and the Southeastern Drywood termite. These small insects live in colonies that have distinct castes and feed off of wood or dead plant matter.
Signs of Termites
There are a lot of things that can be signs of a termite infestation. Drooping drywall, peeling paint that looks like it has water damage, small pinholes in drywall, buckling floor boards, loosened floor tiles, squeaky floorboards, hollow wood around the home, and windows or door that stick or are hard to close can all be signs that you have termites. If you notice discarded wings or termites droppings known as frass that are light or dark in color then you most likely have termites. Wormlike mud tunnels are also a sign of subterranean termites in or around your home.
Entry Points
The easiest way for termites to get into your home is through wood to ground contact which includes doorframes, porch steps, supports and decking. Subterranean termites can find their way into your home through cracks in the foundation or brick mortar.
Damage & Health Concerns
Termites are very destructive insects as they eat the wood that provides structure to your home. Once they have infested your home, wood will become weak and no longer be safe.
